First Aid for Mental Health

Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF Level 1 Award)

Course Overview

This regulated one-day training course offers a recognised UK government level 1 FAA Award and qualification. The course is available face-to-face or online and is accompanied by a course manual.

The course equips participants with the required knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition. It raises awareness of mental health conditions, stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues. It also teaches participants the skills to start a conversation, how to support them both in and out of the workplace and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

Participants will not be taught how to diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by professionals who have the appropriate knowledge, experience and qualifications.
